Our professional technicians are dedicated to ensuring your TV is not only securely and properly mounted, but we also take great care in making sure your experience is pleasant, professional, and hassle-free.  In this article, we'll go over the process for how our TV mounting service works. For more examples of TV’s we’ve mounted, see our Recent Projects.

Scheduling & TV Mounting Details:

Once you call or contact us, we will reach out to get all the details of what size and type of TV you need to mounted, the wall type you need it mounted to, if you have any accessories such as a soundbar, and if you need cable concealment. Once we have all the necessary information, we will schedule the work and you’ll receive an appointment confirmation to your email. You’ll receive another reminder the day before and when we are en route for your appointment.

Safety Check Before TV Mounting:

When we arrive to complete your TV mounting service, we will assess the area where the TV is to be mounted and then perform a safety check. Once we’ve determined if there are any potential hazards hidden behind the wall, we will start the work. Our safety check involves a visual inspection and ultrasonic scanning of the wall to search for electrical wires or pipes. Those hazards are then marked on the wall. If we detect hazards inside the wall, we may use a scope-style camera to further investigate the area.

After the safety check is complete, we will determine the best location and height for the TV, based on your preference, furniture layout, and recommended viewing distance and angle.

TV Mounting Cable Concealment:

If you’ve chosen to include cable concealment as part of your TV mounting service, our technician will install the cable concealment kit. The first step is to ensure that there are no fire blocks or other obstructions in the way of the concealment kit. These 2” X 4” wood blocks are often present in wood frame structures and do not allow for the kit to be used without extensive cutting and damage to the drywall. Before drilling a hole in the drywall, we will use an electronic stud finder to check for this wood block. If the blocking exists, we will not install the kit. If our concealment kit is not an option due to these blocks, we can recommend a professional electrician to install an outlet for you.

TV Mounting:

Now that we’ve made sure there are no safety hazards and have determined the location and height of the TV, the next step is to install the wall bracket and the mounting hardware to the back of the TV. Although there are many different TV mounts available, we recommend Sanus brand TV wall mounts. You can find a complete list of our favorite mounts in our Buyer’s Guide. If you haven’t purchased your mount or cable concealment kits, you can do so through the Amazon product links in our Buyer’s Guide, or we can bring one to you and add it to your invoice.

Once the hardware is installed on the back of the TV, it’s time to install the mounting bracket on the wall studs. You can find more information on mouting to wood studs in our article, How to Mount a TV to Wood Studs. In many commercial buildings or residential high-rise buildings, metal studs are often used. You can find our guide to locating and mounting your TV to metal studs in our article, How to Mount a TV to Metal Studs

After installing the mounting bracket to the wall, our technician will complete the service by placing the TV onto the wall bracket. Please note, that our technicians work alone and will need help with this final step of the TV mounting service. Next, we will fine-tune the leveling adjustment. Our technician will always ensure that the wall bracket is installed level on the wall, but some of the less expensive mounts are not always made to precision specifications and may cause the TV to be out of level, even if the bracket is level on the wall. This is another reason we recommend purchasing aSanus brand mount. These mounts have a fine-level adjustment mechanism which allows our technician to ensure that the TV is perfectly level. These mounts also allow for more options on stud spacing as well.

Cable Management, Clean up, and Invoicing:

When we’ve finished mounting the TV, we will sweep and vacuum the area, and pack up. You’ll receive an invoice over email, which you can pay by credit card, cash, check, or Venmo. Once the invoice is sent, you will receive a link where you can leave a review and show off photos your newly mounted TV. When finalizing the invoice, there will be an option to tip. Please note that while tips are always appreciated, by no means do our technicians expect a tip for a job well done. We only encourage tipping if you believe they have gone above and beyond. We recently added the tipping feature due to customers requesting to tip our technicians. 100% of all tips go to the technician.

Thank you for choosing Mount It ATX, we look forward to serving you soon.
